Jhanvi Kapoor And Shahid’s Brother Ishaan Khattar To Debut In ‘Sairat’ Remake?
Rumours of Shahid Kapoor’s younger brother, Ishaan Khattar, making his Bollywood debut have been doing the rounds for over a year now.
Speculations of him joining the cast of Karan Johar’s sequel to his 2012 romance-drama, ‘Student of the Year’, were followed with whispers of him signing Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi’s next. There were also murmurs of Ishaan being paired opposite Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara in Johar’s Hindi remake of the Hollywood flick, ‘The Fault in Our Stars’.
Now we have learnt about recent developments that the 21-year-old will kick off his career with the Hindi remake of Nagraj Manjule’s Marathi blockbuster, ‘Sairat’.
To be produced by Johar, who has purchased the official remake rights, the project will pair Ishaan with Sridevi’s daughter, Jhanvi Kapoor.
Says a source close to the production, “The script is being modified to suit the Hindi audience. Karan is yet narrow down on a director.”
Ishaan refused to comment on the developments. His mother, Neelima Azeem, said, “It would be wrong to talk about his debut. The makers have their plans of making an announcement. Ishaan has his entire career in front of him.”
The aspiring actor has previously shared screen space with Shahid in Mahesh Manjrekar’s 2005 fantasy-drama, ‘Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi’. Following in the footsteps of his brother, he joined Shiamak Davar’s institute and completed a year-long professional dance degree courseĀ. He recently assisted Abhishek Chaubey for his drug-drama, ‘Udta Punjab’.
