Big Boss 10: Here’s How The Contestants Are Paid!
As a reality show, how Bigg Boss works is, the longer you survive in the house, the more you get paid every week. The celebrities in the house are given a signing amount for the show. Contestants are also divided among three categories: top level, mid-level and bottom level.
It was earlier reported that Gaurav Chopra, Rahul Dev and Bani J had been asked to be on Bigg Boss for several seasons, but had been refusing.
However this season they have succumbed, and according to a report in a leading daily, the reason is the money they are being offered for the show. Rahul and Bani are said to be the highest paid celebrities of the lot.
Another leading daily reports that Karan Mehra, TV actor of ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlaata Hai’ fame is getting paid a whopping Rs 1 crore for the show. This will be apart from the prize money that he may win!
Among the three categories, the bottom level contestants get weekly fee of close to Rs 3 Lakh, the mid-levels get around Rs 4 lakh and the top level contestants can get upto Rs 5 lakh per week, reports another leading daily. So for those celebs who stick around for the entire season of Bigg Boss 10, this could be their jackpot!
And of course, the star of the show, Salman Khan, is rumoured to be charging Rs 6-8 crore per episode. We’re not surprised.
