Twinkle Khanna Slams Veteran Naseeruddin Shah for His Remarks on Father Rajesh Khanna
A few days ago, veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah gave an interview and he some quite harsh remarks on late superstar Rajesh Khanna. The remarks given by the actor were disparaging and not many people agreed to the points made by the actor on Rajesh Khanna.
Rajesh Khanna is considered legend in the Indian film industry and has given hits like Aradhana (1969), Haathi Mere Saathi (1971) and Anand (1971). The actor has the still not broken 15 consecutive solo hit films record that he made in 1969 to 1971.
He has also been honored with a stamp and statue of his likeness, and a road being renamed in his honor. Naseeruddin Shah stated that It was the 70’s when mediocrity came in Hindi films. That’s when the actor called Rajesh Khanna joined the industry. For all his success, I think Mr Khanna was a very limited actor. In fact, he was a poor actor. Intellectually, he wasn’t the most alert person I have ever met. His taste ruled the industry.
He further added that the quality of script, acting, music and lyrics deteriorated. Colour came in. You could make a heroine wear a purple dress and hero a red shirt, go to Kashmir and make a movie. You didn’t need a story. This trend continued and I certainly think Mr Khanna had something to do with it because he was God in those days.
Not so pleased and furious with comments made by Shah, the actor-turned- writer Twinkle Khanna, daughter of Rajesh Khanna expressed her anger and displeasure on the social networking site Twitter.
Sir if u can’t respect the living ,respect the dead-mediocrity is attacking a man who can’t respond @NaseerudinShah, she tweeted.

Her close friend and director Karan Johar also expressed her displeasure over the remarks and tweeted I agree with you @mrsfunnybones…due respect to seniority but this was in exceptionally bad taste and not becoming of a fraternity member.
