Rajnikanth’s next film Kabali is just a few days away from release and fans are ever so excited to see the South superstar on the big screen once again. However, recent reports suggest that the film has leaked online!
Reports claim that there are links to watch the Rajnikanth starrer are everywhere on the internet. It’s been reported that this matter is kept on the down low and the makers of the film are pleading fans not to watch it online. Just recently, Great Grand Masti was leaked much before its scheduled release. The comedy suffered greatly at the box office.
A report by DNA says that many links to the film are illegally available on the Dark Web. “We’ve contacted the authorities to pull down all these unauthorised links to the film. However, this is a Rajinikanth film. It is difficult to contain let alone control the excitement for a film starring the Thalaiva,” a source told a leading newspaper.
The chief of the Central Board of Fim Certification, told DNA that his panel had not certified Kabali and that the films starring big names have no fear of leaks. “Now, the pirates have not spared Rajinikanth either. Kabali was censored in Chennai, so it had nothing to do with our office in Mumbai. Earlier, there was Salman Khan’s Sultan. However, I don’t think collections of films with iconic stars will get affected by the leaks. It is the smaller films featuring non-A-listers, which get hit by the leaks. Great Grand Masti is a case in point,” Mr Nihalani told a leading publication.
Reportedly, on July 15, the Madras High Court banned 169 service providers from distributing the film illegally online. Earlier this year Udta Punjab faced the same circumstances as Kabali. Udta Punjab was also leaked online just days before it’s release in cinemas but nevertheless the movie was not drastically affected.
