A 21 year old member of the Muslim family in Gurgoan was attacked by a mob and rods on Holi evening, allegedly over a cricket dispute. As her brother was been thrashed and abused for playing cricket, she shot the entire episode while facing abuses and threats herself as the attackers struggled to reach her.
The incident began when a group of kids playing cricket on a vacant plot and demanded them to âgo to Pakistan and playâ.
The incident took place at the house of Mohammad Sajid, whose from Uttar Pradesh. According to an FIR filed, Sajidâs nephew Dilshaad said the incident began when two men came on a bike and said, âWhat are you doing here? Go to Pakistan and playâ, which resulted in a fight.
Daanishtha and her brothers were crying for help and asking her and her sisters to get inside the house. She heard someone shouting âPakistani hai ye!â. There were 201-25 strong mob barged in and attacked the family. They kept hitting the men and women.
After the FIR lodged, six people were arrested based on the video footage, the family recorded. Police even assured that they will arrest the rest accused.
