56-Year-Old Man Accidentally Touched A Woman, She Pushed Him In Front Of Running Train
In an unfortunate turn of events, a 56-year-old-man named Deepak Patwa was pushed in front of a running train and died at Mulund railway station in Mumbai. He was pushed after getting into a fight with a man and woman.
Police have arrested a woman named Manisha Khakadiya (38), as she was seen pushing the man on the railway tracks with the help of a man in the CCTV footage.
Senior Police inspector of Kurla GRP Mahesh Balwantrao was quote saying to HT,
“Claiming that Patwa, a Mulund resident, touched her inappropriately, Khakadiya created a ruckus. A man, who was among the crowd that had gathered, intervened and started to fight with Patwa. When Patwa denied the allegations, the man got furious and pushed him. The CCTV recordings show the man had seen the train approaching when he pushed Patwa off the platform. Patwa was run over by the train and died on the spot.”
According to the report of Mid-Day, the CCTV footage shows a man bumping into a woman accidentally. Sadly, he was pushed on the track and killed despite the fact that he has apologized to the woman.
Deepak Patwa was a steel broker, who was going to his office at Masjid’s Bunder Loha Bazaar. The family member of Patwa has filed a complaint because death looked suspicious. His brother-in-law said to Mid-Day,
“Deepak was not someone who would purposely bump into a woman. As per witnesses, he was pushed intentionally, and the [CCTV] footage confirms this.”
After the incident, Manisha and the man fled the scene despite crowd trying to catch them. Police recorded the statement of other passengers who were there at the time of the incident. They took the picture of accused form CCTV footage.
Police found out that Manisha is a resident of Chembur, from where she was arrested. Police have booked her under IPC section 302 (murder) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention). The accused kept saying that she has not been to Mulund for last two days.
Mahesh Balwantrao said,
“We then got her mobile location and found she was at Mulund station at the time of the incident. We arrested her for murder and are now on the lookout for the man.”
It is really sad that anyone would such thing to anyone. The victim should get justice and accused should be punished severely for such heinous crime.
