Shruti Haasan is an Indian singer, actress and music composer who has appeared in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films. As a child artist, she used to sing in the movies and also appeared in guest roles. She made her lead role debut in 2009 Hindi film Luck. She later went on to win critical acclaim for her role in Telugu fantasy film, Anaganaga O Dheerudu. Shruti Haasan was born on 28 January, 1986 in Chennai, India. Her father superstar Kamal Hassan is an Iyengar and mother Sarika is a half-Maharastrian and half-Rajput Being a daughter of renowned actors, she holds a great interest in music and cinema. She has a younger sister Akshara, an Indian film actor, screenwriter, assistant director who works primarily in Bollywood and Tamil film industry. Shruti has also persisted her stint in music with her father's production Unnaipol Oruvan and her own music band and album. Shruti has started her career as a singer and later turned to acting. She made her singing debut at the age of 6. While pursuing her studies in school, she made her singing debut in the Hindi language film, Chachi 420, with her father Kamal Haasan, who also directed the film. Her second song came in Hey Ram, where she sang the bilingual versions of the title theme, Rama Rama with her father, in Hindi and in Tamil. Shruti is very versatile as she also tried her hand in modeling. In September 2007, she featured in Frappe! Magazine as well as Verve. 'Luck' is her bollywood debut film opposite Imran Khan. She later went on to feature in Telugu and Tamil films. She has also done a voice over for a HIV/AIDS teaching animated software tutorial that has been created by TeachAIDS. Shruti Haasan was signed as a brand ambassador for electrical appliances company Lloyd. She also endorses Emami Navratna cool talc. Shruti Haasan has roped in for film Singham 3 opposite Suriya. Her role is said to be quite meaty in this film. Singham 3 will be scheduled to release in 2016. Devi Sri Prasad is likely to score the music for this film as well and Priyan will handle cinematography.
