“He Couldn’t Believe It” says Avika Gor While Milind Chandwani shares, “I’ll Treasure It Forever”: Their Family-Etched Mehendi Ceremony!
Avika Gor and Milind Chandwani’s wedding festivities in Mumbai were a perfect blend of tradition and heartfelt celebration. After a lively haldi and a music-filled sangeet, the mehendi ceremony became the most intimate highlight of their pre-wedding rituals.
Avika looked radiant in a purple mirror-work ensemble while Milind too matched with his ladylove. The true showstopper, however, was the exquisite henna artistry on Avika’s hands—crafted by Bollywood’s favourite mehendi maestro Veena Nagda, whose celebrity touch gave the design a timeless elegance.
Sharing the surprise behind the intricate artwork, Avika said, “Milind couldn’t believe it when he witnessed I had written the names of his parents and grandparents on one hand and my parents and grandparents on the other. It felt like the perfect way to honour both sides.”
A visibly moved Milind added, “It’s a thoughtful and beautiful gesture. The way those names were carved into the design while keeping the tradition alive is something I’ll cherish forever.”
The evening unfolded amid soft marigold décor, fairy lights strung across the courtyard, and live folk music that kept everyone swaying to dhol beats. Close friends and family celebrated with dance and laughter, while the couple exchanged shy, love-filled glances.
From haldi, sangeet to mehndi, every ritual reflected the couple’s wish to blend families and traditions. Yet it was the mehendi—Veena Nagda’s art entwining the names of their loved ones—that captured the very heart of their union: two lives and two lineages beautifully becoming one. Their wedding will take place on 30th September.
