11-Year-Old Girl’s Brilliant Idea To Anand Mahindra On How To Control Noise Pollution Left Him Highly Impressed
With the growing number of private vehicles, traffic jams are becoming more and more annoying with every passing day. However, the saddest thing when you are stuck in the traffic is unnecessary honking by drivers. Despite all the drivers knowing well that honking won’t help them clear traffic jams, they keep doing this, again and again, causing unnecessary noise pollution.
Now, an 11-year-old girl has come up with a brilliant idea on how to control noise pollution and control the unnecessary honking while struck in the traffic jams. This little girl named Mahika Mishra hails from Mumbai, who wrote an amazing letter to the chairman of Mahindra group, Anand Mahindra.
Mahindra group is one of the largest vehicles manufacturing company in the country and it was pretty obvious that Mahika decided to write a letter to the chairman himself. She shared her idea of how to control unnecessary honking. In her letter, she wrote that a limit should be placed on the number of times and the duration of the horn.
She wrote that a person should be able to honk only 5 times in 10 minutes and the honk should last for only 3 minutes. This is such a brilliant idea coming from a girl and we do believe that this method will help minimize noise pollution.
This Is Her Letter:
Anand Mahindra took to Twitter to lauds the litter girl by sharing the image of her letter with a caption that reads,
“At the end of a tiring day, when you see something like this in the mail..the weariness vanishes…I know I’m working for people like her, who want a better—and quieter world! 😊”

Mahika Mishra also asked Anand Mahindra to manufacture electric cars also promising to buy one when she grows up, as it doesn’t cause pollution. Twitterati is also in love with her idea. Look at some of the reactions down below.

Brilliant idea brimming with commonsense. Could only come from a child. Would love to see your take if a honking frequency could be pre-set in cars.

That’s a good idea and a very constructive proposal. Though Traffic can be weary but the honking adds to further frustration and tiredness. Government has to regulate with strict rules which didn’t happen and auto makers should step in.

The young girl has raised a very imp issue. We at #ChandigarhTrafficPolice are running #MakeChandigarhHonkFree campaign to make the city sound beautiful as well. More than 50000 stickers pasted on steering wheels of vehicles to forestall drivers from honking mindlessly. pic.twitter.com/lSQ10Rza3B

what an innovative thought from a 12 yr old. Not sure on the feasibility but it really puts things in place to pull a driver out a HABIT
