Virat Kohli Is Only Indian To Feature In Forbes World’s Highest Paid Athletes


Popular magazine Forbes releases the list of highest paid celebrities from cinema to sports every year. The prestigious magazine has now released the list of top 100 highest paid athletes in the world and it has only one Indian name. He is none other than Indian Skipper Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli is the biggest brand in the country. Kohli is in his prime form and regarded at the best batsman of the current generation. The skipper is currently leading men in blue in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019 held in England and Wales.

The Indian captain is only Indian to make it to the Forbes list of World’s highest-paid athletes, as he secured the 100th spot with the earning of $25 Million last 12 months. The skipper earned $21 million through advertisement, whereas $4 million was his salary.

Barcelona footballer Lionel Messi has taken the top spot with earnings of $127 million, all thanks to his salary and advertisements deals. He dethroned former boxer Floyd Mayweather and became the World’s highest paid athlete now.

Messi’s rival Juventus star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo takes the second spot with earnings of $109 million followed by Brazilian star footballer Neymar coming on the third spot. Tennis legend Roger Federer takes the fifth spot and earned 93.4 million.

American Tennis star Serena Williams is the only woman in the list, who secured the 63rd spot with an earnings of $29.2 million.
