Rajkummar Rao is a perfect example of a person who made it to the top despite not hailing from a family in the film industry. Rajkummar also spoke about nepotism in Bollywood and how his classmates are now successful because of the opportunities provided by OTT.
While accepting that nepotism will always remain in Bollywood, Rajkummar Rao stated that one’s work and talent have to do all the talking. The actor revealed that several of his classmates are now getting recognition because
of streaming platforms. Rajkummar cited the example of Jaideep Ahlawat, who earned a lot of appreciation for his performance in ‘Pataal Lok’ and also named Pratik Gandhi, who made it big with ‘Scam 1992’. Rajkummar Rao
marked his acting debut with ‘Love Sex Aur Dhokha’ (2010) and went on to deliver huge hits like ‘Kai Po Che’, ‘Shahid’, and ‘Stree’ to name a few. He also bagged the prestigious National Film Award for ‘Shahid’.
Rajkummar Rao acknowledged that nepotism would always exist in Bollywood but insisted that one’s work and talent should speak for themselves. The actor acknowledged that numerous of his peers are now receiving fame as a result of streaming services. Rajkummar mentioned Pratik Gandhi, who achieved success with “Scam 1992,” and Jaideep Ahlawat, who received praise for his portrayal in “Pataal Lok.” After making his acting debut in the 2010 film “Love Sex Aur Dhokha,” Rajkummar Rao went on to produce blockbusters like “Kai Po Che,”
“Shahid,” and “Stree,” to mention a few. For “Shahid,” he also won the prestigious National Film Award.
On the work front, Rajkummar Rao will soon be seen in ‘HIT – The First Case’. This suspense thriller is a remake of a 2020 Telugu hit by the same name. Rajkummar essays the role of a cop in this entertainer. Speaking about the
movie, he had told PTI, “Nobody has given me action to do before ‘HIT’. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The action is real, organic and raw. This is a film I am proud of, it is presenting me in a different avatar. It is a good investigative thriller.” ‘HIT’ is set to hit the screens on July 15.

Sharing his thoughts to PTI regarding the film, “Nobody has given me action to do before ‘HIT’. I had a great time with it. Action is genuine, natural, and unedited. I’m proud of this movie since it shows me in a new light. It is a solid investigative thriller. On July 15, “HIT” will premiere on television.
