Kartik Aaryan says that he would love to do movies like Kantara

Answering a question about whether he would want to work on a movie “as rooted as” Kantara, actor Kartik Aaryan said yes. 

In a recent interview, Kartik identified as “desi” and expressed his desire to work on such movies. Kartik also mentioned how much he enjoys watching films like Kantara.

Kantara, directed by Rishab Shetty, received a resounding cheer from the audience for its plot and stunning visuals. 

The story is based in coastal Karnataka and combines ideas of man vs nature, land politics, and local beliefs in Daivas. Kantara centres on the Kambala champion Shiva (Rishab), who engages in battle with a moral Forest officer.

In a Zoom interview, Kartik stated, “I would adore making rooted, grounded movies. Bohut desi main khud yaar. I am a desi khoon pura. I am entirely native. 

Mujhe aesi filmein dekhne bhi mazaa aata hai aur karne ka bbhi shauq hai. Since I have pure Native American blood, I adore watching and producing such movies.

When I read that “the era of Kartik Aaryan has begun” in some headlines, I feel pleased with my accomplishment and wish that good films would continue to be produced and that I would continue to be cast in them.”

On September 30, Kantara had its theatrical release in Kannada. The dubbed versions were released two weeks later due to positive box office reception, even outside Karnataka. 

The movie recently had its digital release on Prime Video in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Rishab, Pramod Shetty, Achyuth Kumar, Sapthami Gowda, and Kishore are among the cast members of Kantara, a Hombale Films production.

Kartik and Alaya F were most recently spotted in Freddy. On December 2, a Freddy movie by Ekta Kapoor was made available on Disney+ Hotstar. The romantic thriller directed by Shashanka Ghosh features Kartik in a previously unseen role.

The actor has several upcoming projects, including the family-friendly comedy Shehzada, in which he will star opposite Kriti Sanon. 

Satyaprem Ki Katha, a romantic musical drama starring Kiara Advani, will also feature Kartik. On June 29, 2023, the film is scheduled to open in theatres.

In addition, Kartik has the upcoming films Aashiqui 3, Captain India from director Hansal Mehta, and an untitled project from director Kabir Khan.
