Jackie Shroff and Sanjay Leela Bhansali collaborate again in Heeramandi after Devdas

Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Jackie Shroff have earlier worked in Devdas, where Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit Nene starred. 

Soon after finishing up Gangubai Kathiawadi with Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz and Seema Pahwa, Sanjay Leela Bhansali plunged into his highly ambitious film- Heeramandi – which reportedly stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Fardeen Khan and Farida Jalal. 

In August of the previous year, SLB, along with Netflix, officially revealed the project. 

This unites Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Jackie Shroff after twenty years again. They have earlier worked on the 2002 era romantic-drama Devdas, in which Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit Nene starred. 

Shroff portrayed SRK’s friend Chunni Babu in the film. 

Meanwhile, the filmmakers have already shot for a significant portion of Heeramandi and will restart the shooting again soon. The set is currently being refurbished with some newer elements for the future show scenes. 

In an earlier discussion with Pinkvilla, when we had asked Sonakshi Sinha about being a part of the film, here’s what she said. “There are assumptions, but I’ll wait for Sanjay Sir and his crew to make official statements.”

“I don’t want to be saying anything or crossing the line. But yes, there are rumours, and people can guess all they want,” the Dabangg star had said.
