Chiranjeevi’s Telugu action drama Kathilantodu (tentative title), with which he will return to the big screen after nearly eight years, is facing a casting problem. The leading lady opposite the senior actor is still to be cast. While Rambha and Gouthami are part of the film, Chiranjeevi requires a top actress to be paired opposite him. It is the super star’s 150th full-length feature film and deals with farmer suicides in India.
Says a source, “Many actresses from Bollywood including Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Parineeti Chopra and Nargis Fakhri were approached but all of them turned down the film citing date issues. The producers even approached Baahubali actress Anushka Shetty she too was unable to give dates. The hunt for the lading lady is still on.”
The source adds, “Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan is keen for a top Bollywood actress to be paired opposite his father as he is also producing the film and wants the best for him. It’s his dream project as his father is making a comeback to films after an eight-year gap. The film features Chiranjeevi in a double role. The search for the lead actress is still on, though three schedules have been completed.”
The film has already started shooting and with the stardom of Chiranjeevi, we are sure he will get some actress to come on board for the film soon. The film is the remake of Vijay’s Kaththi and we are very excited about this one.
