Shah Rukh Khan also called as SRK is a popular actor, producer and entrepreneur from India. He was born on 2nd November 1965 in New Delhi. He stayed in his childhood in Mangalore with his grandfather, while returned to New Delhi to continue his primary school. He went to St. Columba’s School based in Central Delhi wherein he excelled in his studies and sports including football and hockey. He got school’s highest award called the Sword of Honor. He did his college from Hansraj College to complete his Bachelor’s in Arts in Economics. He then went on to do his masters in Mass Communication from Jamia Millia Islamia but lefts in the midst to pursue his dreams in acting. He enrolled in NSD (National School of Drama). In his college days, he was also engaged in doing a number of plays and soon got married in 1991 to Gauri Chibber in Punjabi Hindu traditional wedding. The couple has three kids – Aryan (elder son), Suhana (daughter) and AbRam (second son) though surrogacy.

He came from theatres but when reached Mumbai he landed up in small screen to do his first TV series called Dil Dariya in 1988 but it was delayed for a year and his other TV serial called Fauji, which was based on the training of army cadets. He then got another TV series called Circus and Mani Kaul’s miniseries called Idiot in 1991. He was also seen other TV series like Idiot, Umeed and Wagle Ki Duniya and an English TV movie In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones. Soon he signed four films in one day getting Hema Malini’s venture – Dil Aashna Hai, Deewana and others. Deewana was a big hit and it gave a couple of other movies like Chamatkar, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman to name a few, which gave him a good recognition in the media.

Shah Rukh Khan then got the movie Darr wherein he got the negative shade role followed by others like Baazigar, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na, Anjam, Maya Memsab etc, wherein he had the negative characters. This established him in the anti hero role, which even gave him the negative actor role from Filmfare and other platforms. However, the film Dilwale  Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) change his image from an actor of negative role to king of romance. He got a number of awards for the Best Actor category to give him the best of the exposure in this field. His King of Romance tag led him films like Dil To Pagal Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Mohabbatein and Devdas to name a few. Some of his exception movies include My Name is Khan, Swadesh and Chak De India to name a few to carve his niche as an exceptional actor in Bollywood. His antagonist role in Don and Don 2 was highly applauded over the box office and by the critics.

Some of his recently released movies include Happy New Year, Chennai Express, Dilwale, Fan and his upcoming movie is Raees, which is all set to hit the theatres soon in January 2017 clashing with Hrithik Roshan starrer movie Kaabil. Besides, acting, he is also into production and has his own production house called Red Chillies Entertainment which is into films and TV series productions.  As of 2015, his company has nine movies in his credit including Ra One, Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Always Kabhi Kabhi and many more such films. He did a couple of TV shows including KBC, Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain, Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipe out, etc. Besides, he is a regular stage performer right from being a host to many awards to performing at a number of places including both India and abroad.

Shah Rukh Khan endorses a number of brands which include a number of Ecommerce companies to cars and a wide range of brands like Pepsi, Hyundai, Nokia, Dish TV, LUX, TAG Heuer and D’décor. He is the owner of the IPL Cricket Franchise called Kolkata Knight Riders which has won the cup twice all these ten tournaments. As far as awards are concerned, he has received a number of applauds both within India and abroad. These include for films like DDLJ, Dil To Pagal Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Devdas, Swadesh, Chak De and My Name is Khan. He has never won a National Film Award but has been awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2005. The Government of France has awarded him both the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres the highest civilian honour, the Légion d’honneur from French government.
