2) Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi Inspired by Wuthering Heights

The serial which was aired on Colors, was quite a popular daily soap. It was truly based on the novel ‘Wuthering Heights’ which is a gothic classic, written by Emily Bronte and her only novel. The serial shows how Ishani’s family removes Ranveer from her life, just like ‘Heathcliff’. Ishani’s character reflects Catherine. Later, Ranveer returns in her life, but this time he is shown as a rich businessman and here is when the story seems different from the novel.

The serial Kumkum Bhagya is now airing on Zee TV and is an inspiration from the novel Sense and Sensibility. The serial is an Indian version of the novel. Elinor Dashwood is played by Pragya. The hero of the show is a supermodel as well as a Rockstar. Marianne Dashwood also has an important role in the story and is played by Bulbul.
